This blog, brought to you by UPP Studios, discusses staying relevant in a digital age that is constantly changing. Creating content is only half the battle when it comes to competing in the entertainment industry. One can create an inordinate amount of content, but if that content goes unseen, then to what end is it being created? Social media platforms have become the main way in which content gets disseminated to the masses.

Simply posting a video, however, is not enough. If one wants his/her content seen, the proper hashtags, geo-tags, and keywords must be used. As we’ve written about before, building viewership is a job unto itself. Social media is such a crucial part of staying relevant in the industry that there are people who have made a job of helping to increase one’s brand and social media presence. If you are someone that wants to take a more hands on approach, but still needs some assistance, entire video courses have been created to walk one through the secret tricks that lead to social media success. Virginia Salas Kastilio, named the top female Snapchat business influencer by Inc. Magazine, recently teamed up with Josue Pena (said to be the Instagram Guru), to create a very inexpensive masterclass video course that, if implemented properly, could completely change one’s social media presence for the better.

Even if one does everything right, staying relevant is harder than one might think. Frustration is inevitable, even for these social media marketing companies, when the reality of the situation is realized. Social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, are constantly changing and updating their algorithms. This means that the strategy that worked for one yesterday, may not work for one tomorrow. Therefore, staying relevant entails taking an active role in doing research to see what is working right now in this moment. Doing one’s best to track trends and stay on top of the direction in which social media is going is imperative. Everything comes down to how hungry one is for success. Hard work pays off and due diligence is rewarded.

UPP Studios

UPP Studios is very aware of the difficulties of staying relevant. In past blogs I have highlighted the many extraordinary characteristics my business partner Adam C. Lively has. One of his most valuable traits is how apt he is, and we have used that to our company’s advantage. Adam spent some time working for a company that did SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Knowing the ins and outs of SEO allows one to push one’s website to the top of google search pages without paying a third party an absurd amount of money to do so. To put SEO in very simplistic terms, the more original content one creates, and the more relevant keywords with low search results that one hits, the more likely it is that staying relevant is an actuality, as opposed to an impossibility.

Through implementing the strategies that Adam learned, UPP Studios has dominated several google search results,
Virginia Salas Kastillo & Adam C. Lively overtaking other companies that used to hold the top positions on those pages. In addition, Adam’s networking skills and charismatic personality have put us in direct contact with Virginia Salas Kastillo. The two have collaborated together, and have developed a friendship. Virginia was the one that brought the changing algorithms to Adam’s attention and it is because of her that we are more aware than ever in terms of our social media approach.
